Our First Cordless Bandsaw! | 18V Makita Compact Bandsaw Review

You guys! Let's talk about all the new things Makita has put into this 18V Cordless Compact Bandsaw. First off, if you are someone is the electrical, plumbing, metal fabrication, or any field that where you cut meal tubing or angle iron all day long, this tool is for you. This Makita bandsaw is part of the growing 18V cordless line up with over 70+ tools!
Let's get to the good stuff.
For a bandsaw, I was expecting this to be unbelievably heavy. To my surprise, it actually wasn't that bad! We did a little looking up and found out it's only 7.5 lbs. with the battery, which is 25% lighter than any others in the market! Crazy. You can actually use this one handed if you needed to hold down material with your other hand or hold it above your head. The wheel cover that encloses the blade outside the cutting area adds to the one handed operation as well. Keeping it safe you know.
The blade is really top notch, actually cuts like butter. The 2 1/2" cutting capacity is ideal for cutting conduit, Unistrut®, copper pipe, threaded rod, angle iron and channel. Any field of job that involves working with your hands could honestly benefit from this tool. We work with metal occasionally and this is the biggest help. We had a normal metal cutting bandsaw years ago, but we got rid of it because it just took up to much space in our small shop. Now, we can start cutting meal with a bandsaw again!
A few last things that I want to talk about. The Makita-built motor delivers 630 ft./min. blade speed for faster cutting! Perfect! To change the blade out it requires no tools once so ever! Just release the tension on the wheel and you can slide the blade right into place. Would 10/10 recommend the Makita 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Compact Band Saw!
